How to overcome thin skin, teach you a few practical tips

When others talk widely, there are always people hiding in the corner and being silent. There’s always someone who blushes and has inconvenient hands and feet when someone else pushes the cup for a change…for shy people, every socialization can be painful. However, in today’s society, the importance of social interaction is obvious, and many shy people also hope to overcome their shyness and improve their social skills. So, how to overcome shyness? American psychologist Philip Zimbardo set up a shyness clinic at Stanford University in California in the late 1970s to study the cognitive characteristics of shy people and provide treatment options. He has made suggestions for improving shyness. Some of these recommendations are still valid today and are summarized below:

  1. Face yourself, be shy. If you want to change your mimosa condition, you must first face yourself, clarify your mimosa character, and at the same time admit and accept mimosa. Moderate shyness is just the instinctive response and self-defense of human beings to the external environment. Everyone is more or less shy. Shyness is not a different part of oneself, nor will it make oneself different from others.
  2. Believe in yourself and try actively. In the process of overcoming shyness, the importance of the first step is self-evident. Only by taking the first step bravely and confidently can you change yourself. Therefore, shy people must overcome their own inner terror, muster the courage, actively reach out to others, and actively talk.
  3. Be prepared to change gradually. Shyness is not only a character trait, but also a behavioral habit and a way to deal with it. It may take a long time for shy people to overcome shyness. Therefore, on the one hand, shy people need to be mentally prepared to bear the difficulties that may occur in the process of change, and on the other hand, make plans to cope with various challenges and gradually change themselves. In addition, mastering social technology can also help shy people improve their social skills.
