Princess Beatrice Supports Mental Health Festival in Memory of Caroline Flack

BERKSHIRE, England – Princess Beatrice attended Flackstock, a music festival held on July 22 at Englefield Estate in Berkshire, to support mental health awareness. Now in its third year, the festival has raised over $650,000 in memory of Caroline Flack, the British TV presenter who tragically died by suicide in 2020.

Princess Beatrice, dressed in a navy floral dress with puffed sleeves and a denim jacket, complemented her outfit with a bright faux floral headpiece. She enjoyed VIP access at the event and was seen posing for photos with Natalie Pinkham and Richard Benyon, the owner of Englefield Estate.

Caroline Flack, known for her roles on Love Island and The X Factor, passed away at age 40. Her death came two months after she was charged with assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton, in December 2019. A coroner later concluded that the stress of impending prosecution and media scrutiny significantly contributed to her decision to end her life.

Christine Flack, Caroline’s mother, delivered an emotional tribute at the festival, celebrating her daughter’s life and infectious laugh. She thanked attendees for honoring Caroline’s memory and making the event a meaningful celebration.

Flack had briefly dated Prince Harry, a relationship mentioned in his 2023 autobiography, Spare. Reflecting on their time together, Harry described her as “light and funny,” capturing the essence of their carefree interaction.

The festival also served as a fundraiser for several of Caroline Flack’s favored charities, including Choose Love, Samaritans, Charlie Waller Trust, and Mind. Held on the grounds of Englefield House—also the site of Pippa Middleton’s 2017 wedding—the event featured mental health discussions, fitness and comedy acts, and performances by artists such as Olly Murs, Tom Walker, Shaznay Lewis, and Chesney Hawkes.

Olly Murs, a close friend of Flack, paid tribute to her memory by closing his set with “Sweet Caroline,” a song he pledged to perform at every concert in her honor. His heartfelt tribute moved many attendees, as he spoke lovingly of his late friend.

The following day, July 23, Princess Beatrice attended another charitable event, visiting a north London school to promote sun safety as patron of the British Skin Foundation. Dressed in a white floral dress, the royal engaged with 9 and 10-year-olds at St. Mary’s and St. John’s School, highlighting the importance of protecting skin from sun damage.
