STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Sneakers, clothing, musical instruments, and other personal memorabilia from the late DJ Avicii will be auctioned to support his mental health foundation. The auction, featuring 267 items donated by Avicii’s family, aims to benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation, which advocates for suicide awareness and mental health issues.
Stockholms Auktionsverk will host the event, known as the Avicii Collection. Cecilia Gave, CEO of Stockholms Auktionsverk, expressed pride in presenting the auction. “Tim Bergling touched countless lives worldwide through his music and the foundation established in his name. We are honored to support the Tim Bergling Foundation and help further its mission. With 350 years of experience handling artifacts from notable cultural figures, it is a privilege to be part of this effort.”
Avicii, born Tim Bergling, died by suicide in 2018 at the age of 28. His career began in his teens, and he gained widespread acclaim with his first single released in 2007. He continued to release numerous singles and remixes, cementing his influence in the music industry.
The live auction will take place both at Stockholms Auktionsverk’s location at Nybrogatan 32 in Stockholm and online on October 1 at 3 p.m. local time (9 a.m. ET, 6 a.m. PT). The auction catalog will be available online starting September 6. Public viewing of the items will be held from September 24 to September 30 at the auction house.
