FRASER, CO – Denver Health’s Alpine Clinic has expanded its services to include mental health care, addressing a growing need in Grand County. Licensed clinical social worker Angela Kaushik has joined the clinic as a therapist, offering cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solutions-focused therapy, and undergoing training in somatic therapy.

“It will likely feel like you’re talking to a good friend, even though, professionally, we will not be friends,” Kaushik said. “I’m just one member of a support team that we can create to help you get through a hard time.”

Addressing Mental Health Needs in Grand County

The clinic’s expansion follows feedback from local residents and employees who expressed a need for more mental health resources. In response, Denver Health introduced an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) therapy service, providing:

Kaushik has partnered with Winter Park Resort to support resort employees, and similar services are available to other employers interested in mental health support for their workforce. The clinic also serves the general public, offering care for individuals facing minor to severe mental health challenges.

Comprehensive Mental Health Support

Kaushik works with adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions, Recognizing the challenges of winter, Kaushik highlighted how cold, darkness, and isolation often contribute to increased alcohol use and mental health struggles.

Flexible Therapy Options

  • In-person therapy is available on Mondays at the Alpine Clinic.
  • Telehealth sessions are offered Tuesday through Friday.
  • Patients can also access telehealth services from the clinic if they lack privacy at home.

Kaushik encourages those unsure about therapy to schedule a screening call to discuss their concerns and explore options.

“I won’t take it personally if I’m not the right fit,” Kaushik said. “I can support them in finding other resources as well.”

Insurance & Future Expansion

The clinic accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and major insurances for therapy services. While the program is still in its early stages, Kaushik believes that demand may lead to further expansion.

“We’re just excited to add another resource to the community,” she said.
