The sub-health state of children’s growth psychology

Research shows that about 15% of children have psychological and behavioral problems, which is much higher than their physical development and physical health problems. Undoubtedly, the sub-health problems in children’s psychological growth are especially worthy of parents’ attention.

  1. Parents should pay more attention to the psychological needs of their children. Parents tend to pay more attention to their children’s physical needs than to their psychological needs. However, psychologists have found that many people’s psychological problems are rooted in the lack of reasonable and sufficient attention to their early psychological needs. The reasonable satisfaction of children’s psychological needs at each age is the premise of children’s sense of trust, responsibility, emotional stability, and sound personality development.
  2. Have a moderate expectation of the child. Excessive expectations are one of the typical characteristics of today’s parents raising children, and it is also one of the main sources of children’s psychological problems. Before setting expectations for their children, parents may wish to evaluate their children’s intellectual characteristics, interests, and personality characteristics. Take the characteristics of the child’s own development as the reference and starting point for expectations. Parents should also note that in order to turn expectations into reality, it is important for children to translate adult expectations into intrinsic motivation for their own development.
  3. Give the child enough psychological space. With the improvement of social and material living conditions, most children have their own rooms. However, children’s psychological space is not “raised” because of the expansion of material space. In fact, children want to have their own ideas, their own secrets, and their own free and independent time and space. Children who grow up under their parents’ wishful thinking of “surrounding”, “chasing”, “blocking” and “intercepting” usually lack self-discipline, fluctuate emotionally, and have poor ability to deal with setbacks.
