KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Family Care Center has announced the opening of a new clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee, aimed at providing critical outpatient mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and Veterans in the area. A 2024 report from Mental Health America indicates a significant rise in adults in Tennessee experiencing frequent mental distress, with a 7.61% increase. This places Tennessee among the top states with the most notable spikes in mental distress, following Nevada and Kentucky. Many individuals face barriers to accessing necessary care due to financial constraints.
Family Care Center CEO Wayne Cavanaugh emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue. “The increase in challenges accessing mental health care in Tennessee underscores the need for more high-quality care options,” Cavanaugh said. “Our expansion into Knoxville is a crucial step in addressing this crisis and ensuring that Tennesseans receive the care they need.”
