Barratt Homes Donates £1,500 to Support Men’s Mental Health

Barratt Homes Yorkshire East has contributed £1,500 to Andy’s Man Club to support men struggling with mental health issues in Beverley, East Yorkshire, and across the UK. The donation aims to enhance the club’s mission to provide a safe, supportive space for men facing mental health challenges.

Founded in 2016 by Luke Ambler and Elaine Roberts after the suicide of a family member, Andy’s Man Club helps break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. With men representing 75% of all suicides in the UK, the club’s goal is to offer peer-to-peer support and ensure that every man has access to help.

The club’s meetings, which take place every Monday at 7 p.m. in Beverley, are free and open to men aged 18 and older. No registration is required. From its first session with just nine participants, Andy’s Man Club has grown to over 5,000 members nationwide. The group also offers online support for those unable to attend in person.

In addition to meetings, the club hosts walks and events in collaboration with local mental health organizations, providing extra opportunities for men to connect. These meetups are held within a 10-minute drive of Barratt Homes’ Queen’s Court development.

The donation is part of Barratt Homes’ ongoing commitment to supporting local communities through the Barratt Developments Community Fund, an initiative that provides financial aid to charities selected by staff members each month.

Andy Bampton, Area Lead at Andy’s Man Club, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting, “As a donation-led charity, this kind of generosity is essential to our work. The money will help us expand to new areas and continue raising awareness about our mission.”

Leonna Hardcastle, Sales Manager at Barratt Homes’ Queen Court development, said, “We’re proud to support a charity that directly benefits men in the communities where we build. We believe in empowering local initiatives, and we’re honored to help Andy’s Man Club continue their vital work.”

Located near Beverley town center, Barratt Homes’ Queen Court development offers a range of two, three, and four-bedroom homes starting at £209,000. It falls within the service area of Andy’s Man Club’s East Riding branch, further strengthening the connection between the two organizations.
