How much do you know about online dating?

When it comes to online dating, our first reaction is unreliable, because the news always reports that netizens are in danger, so when netizens ask to meet, it is better to be rare! But speaking, there are many couples who end up getting married It is the marriage of online dating, so it is better to be rational when dealing with online dating. What are your thoughts on online dating and dating?

  1. Internet daters are not losers Contrary to the stereotype of Internet dating, there is little evidence that Internet dating is the last resort for socially awkward geeks. On the contrary, online daters may be more sociable, have higher self-esteem, and have lower dating anxiety, the study found. There’s no evidence that people are dating online because they don’t have the skills to communicate face-to-face with the people around them. Internet dating is just a way to meet new people! There are many motivations for people to start dating online, and there is usually a trigger event, such as a love breakup, but in general, people’s motivation is more important than personal reasons. Mostly for socializing. People use online dating not because they’re shy, but because they’ve moved to a new city, or are working too long, or don’t have time to meet new people.
  2. Online daters lie (but only lightly) Although 94% deny that their online dating homepage contains some innocuous lies, psychologists suspect they are lying. So the researchers measured the height and weight of 80 internet daters and checked their driver’s licenses to confirm their real age. When comparing this data with their homepage, they found that 90% of people lied on at least 1 of the stats measured, but only by a small margin. The most frequent lie was about weight, which they adjusted by an average of 5%, and daters were more honest about their age (1.5% deviation) and height (1.1% deviation). As expected, women tended to lose some weight, while men gained some height. These lies are insignificant in the real world because most innocuous lies are difficult to verify from a single person. Most online daters eventually want to meet each other, and they know that if they lie too much, they will be exposed when they meet.
  3. The Fallacy of Photos The phrase “cameras never lie” is bullshit. Camera angles and lighting can easily change your attractiveness in the eyes of others, even without Photoshop to remove wrinkles. People instinctively realize this when picking out their homepage photos.
