Career rookie to know a few key job rookie to take the initiative to think

Some new workplace after entering the workplace, they want to show their feet, because the mood is too impetuous, nothing;

Some people simply lose their curiosity and don’t ask for advice even if they don’t know, which is very wrong.

New employees should know that when they first enter the workplace, they should not be too impetuous, always keep their curiosity, don’t be too fussy about gains and losses, and don’t be lazy, which will make your career difficult.

The newbies don’t know these struggling our new don’t blundering ¡¿ ¡¾ just came out from school, with a long-term vision for the future better into the company, but could only see with the current situation of the difference in their expectation, this time you will feel the company might not be what I want, may be able to find out better, jumped out of a splash.

Arrived another, DISCOVERY SEEMS TO BE A BIT BETTER, BUT with the ideal in STILL have a gap, forget to do it first, doing to do and found that it seems to have no chance, but also suffer, how this line, another job, plop 1 jumped out again.

Finally found a again, this time found that his classmate like promotion promotion, salary increases, but their still struggling at the grassroots level, the depressed mood, so desperately, desperately trying to do the performance, the results found or have no effect in the short term, the impetuous heart even more, I only thought it seems everyone knows, or change the land, plump, and dancing.

It’s not storytelling, it’s reality, it was, it still is, and it will be.

Impetuous is the workplace taboo, to do well, first of all to sink down, although not satisfactory now, but to believe that the plight is temporary, as long as I have been working hard, there is a way out.

[Curiosity] I have met a lot of new people, feel that many people lack curiosity, new things seem to be accustomed to, but you ask him when he does not know, such a new person due to lack of curiosity is less chance to find new knowledge.

“Do more” when it comes to work, I think a lot of new people have a good feeling, just to the company to work in the basic is nothing to do, or old employees afraid you won’t be screwed up, or you don’t know what to do, we have such experience, can let the couple to do some simple thing, but the couple seldom say I’ll do it,

Or when I’ll make a new proposed, older workers will say no no, in fact we all know that Chinese people don’t have to offer is, as a couple you don’t seriously, listen to don’t you don’t do it, if it is really need not, when you repeatedly make you to do (simple), older workers will refuse, if not let you come.

Doing more and doing less is actually a matter of attitude. If you do more, people will say you are active, while if you do less, people will say you lack initiative. Therefore, if you can do more things within your power, I think it will be helpful for you to integrate into the team and gain recognition as soon as possible.

¡¾ Block negative influence ¡¿ As a newcomer to the workplace, it is easy to be influenced by colleagues and superiors. I remember several years ago when I first joined a company, an old employee told me that he was going to leave soon and it was not interesting to work here. I have heard this many times.

Then I in this kind of negative effect to the company to some common problems of the root, then the mentality has changed, don’t think I can stay here, at last I did eight months away, and that I just went in and said to haven’t to go to go, all kinds of people in the workplace, some people like to complain, some extreme,

When we come into contact with these people, it is easy to be influenced by negative and extreme emotions, which will affect our view of the company. Who will suffer the final loss?

Block out negative influences and minimize your contact with these people.

1. Take Initiative and Think about it. In college, you were given assignments and deadlines.

At work, you seem to have been assigned some tasks at first;

With collaborative tools, some tasks have deadlines, just like in school.

If you think so, you are wrong.

At work, leaders like you to be proactive and proactive about getting things done.

You need to be able to plan things on your own, and if you have a good idea (and it works), you can give them feedback in a timely manner.

General leaders only in the beginning of your entry, like a teacher to give you homework, and even some meticulous care, but the final hope is that you can grow up and stand alone.

2. Expand your circle. Don’t stick to your familiar circle: I’m not very good at this. When I first started working, I felt that I had written competitions and programs a little faster than others, so I could ignore circles and connections.

So gradually, I only eat and play with my familiar Chinese friends (the circle is not international).

Eventually I realized that as an engineer gets to that level, your code skills exponentially become less important and your soft power (soft power outside of programming) becomes more and more important.

That’s when your circle and network (even within a company) becomes more and more important.

So, I suggest you push yourself into the mainstream.

For example: “team lunch” this kind of thing, no matter what kind of devil they are, what kind of bad food they eat, you have to go, is mandatory.

In China, if you are an engineer, you should take the initiative to communicate and cooperate with other departments or other functional departments in the company, rather than simply writing code.

3, Industry trend analysis Ditch the “student mind” Science into the workplace 8 Tips Look to the future and trends, not the present.

I think this is one of the most common mistakes students make when they first start working.

The root cause is that students generally have no money and not much vision, so when they start to earn money, they feel easy to meet some income, so as to settle down.

I see a lot of new graduates looking at the present rather than the future (trend) when choosing a company or a job.

A classic example of this was when I joined Facebook, and a classmate asked me why not go to Google or Apple, whose Android and iPhone and search and Mac businesses were booming, and why go to a social network?

(Facebook didn’t have Instagram, Whatsapp, or Oculus VR at the time.) There were even people who had an offer from Facebook, an offer from Microsoft, or an offer from Google, and ended up at Google.

Some people just look at the salary and cash, and don’t study the stock and options, or even pretend not to care.

There are even claims that Google has more food in the cafeteria, saying that Google has a swimming pool or free washing machine, which is really funny.

There is a saying on the way to start a business called following the trend.

It’s important to see where things are going, and you need to jump in the company or field before you get started (see, yes);

That’s how you capitalize on the company’s growth (not when it’s already flying high).

These principles seem to be clear to everyone, but it is difficult not to make mistakes when making personal choices, because people tend to choose the comfort of the present rather than thinking about the uncertainty of the future.

How about a couple of questions here?

Do you choose BAT or startup?

Should I choose the field of Internet finance or O2O?

Is VR/AR headed for explosion or bullshit?

(Yes, you have to think!

You should Prioritize your work. Specifically, you have a limited number of classes, a limited number of assignments, and a relatively clear deadline and a final exam.

After the end of the examination, the study is almost empty for a period of time.

But at work you’ll find that you don’t have a summer vacation or a winter vacation, and the worst part is that your work is endless — yes, endless.

Especially if you’re at an up-and-coming Internet company, the speed at which tasks are given to you is often faster than you can process them.

So when you get an assignment or an email asking you to do something, instead of doing it right away, force yourself to pause, prioritize the task at hand, then allocate time to start, and then do it again.

Especially when you see a simple or routine tasks assigned down, don’t cry because it is simple task immediately jump to dry, or that is likely to be a simple repetition labor full of light, the use of your time before finally do important things, or didn’t have the energy to think more long more influential.

So, again, do the tasks with the highest impact and urgency (which are generally unpleasant, even tricky or impossible to do) and defer (or delegate) the tasks that are simple and repetitive.

That’s when you realize that your busyness is meaningful, not pseudo work.

I often see young graduates who are busy every day, but they miss the point. They are busy just for the sake of being busy, or, to put it better, “busy to move themselves”.

Most of the time such busy, finally is a fart.

At Facebook, there was a name for such workers, called the “pseudo worker.” The leader’s job was to give them direct, thorough feedback on where their work would have the most impact, while also advising them to resist the temptation to do simple tasks with low impact.

Yes, there’s a temptation to do all that crap;

The temptation is to keep doing it, keep doing it, and feel particularly accomplished and “busy and fulfilled”.

So be careful!

There are also many such founders (or co-founders) on the entrepreneurial road in China. They may not have a clear idea of their own direction, or make a wrong route, but they share the overtime work of themselves and colleagues in their moments all day long. They feel that such “busyness” is very fulfilling.

In fact, this is a terrible and unaccountable way of doing things for the team.

Usually, in companies with outrageous hours and no unicorn valuation, I feel that overtime is a shame, a sign of poor prioritization or unclear strategy by team leaders;

If the founders are still there to impress themselves by working overtime, my advice is to “get out of these companies early.”

I’d also wager that 90% of these companies are extremely inefficient at overtime (and during regular working hours).
